This Club is directed to the up and coming SEWER and DESIGNER. Not only will learn about sewing machines and how they work. You will also be creating and designing your projects. This class is geared for 10-14 years old!

Jerry McBride is an award winning double honours graduate from Emily Carr College of Art and Design. A scholarship and fashion illustration award recipient from Helen Lefeaux School of Fashion Design. She has enjoyed teaching at various fashion and arts college programs and looks forward to teaching new and young budding designers at Mason Sewing Machine.

This class will be a hands on approach to the amazing world of sewing. Learn the basic sewing techniques and good safety habits.You will go home with several machine sewn projects and the joy of sewing and creating. The Casual Unstructured Jacket

How often have you wished that pattern companies would design clothes that fit real bodies or even help you make pattern adjustments? That's exactly what Cecelia will do in this workshop using her Classics Casual jacket Pattern, #104. This unstructured, partially lines, easy-to-sew jacket is sure to become a wardrobe staple due to its relaxed, comfortable fit.

Day one will give each participant the opportunity to be fitted with a fabric test copy of the jacket. Specific alteration suggestions will be give which will then be translated to flat pattern adjustments on your personal pattern. A discussion of fabric, cutting , marking, and fusing interfacing will follow so the jacket can be cut out for Week 2.

The three following weeks will continue with fast and easy sewing techniques with specific emphasis on setting the collar and sleeves. Professional pressing will be emphasized in order to achieve a professional finished jacket.
